Wireless Computing, Inc. Debuts New Radio Frequency RF-250 Wireless Keyboard for Audiovisual Professionals

High-performance wireless keyboard delivers reliable computer and mouse control using 2-way digital communication

LAS VEGAS, NV - June 12, 2002 — Wireless Computing, Inc., developers of wireless computer peripheral devices, today announced its newest radio frequency wireless keyboard. A high-performance radio frequency (RF) keyboard for Windows and Macintosh computers, the RF-250 Wireless Keyboard uses 2-way wireless digital communication to provide keyboard and mouse control for computers.

The RF-250 Wireless Keyboard consists of a full-sized keyboard, a mouse touchpad with dual mouse buttons embedded in a removable gel wrist rest and a RF transmitter/receiver. It provides all the functionality of a standard keyboard and mouse, but without cords or cables. And since the RF-250 Wireless Keyboard uses RF rather than infrared signals as its technology base, there are no line-of-sight limitations or data integrity problems.

The RF-250 Wireless Keyboard delivers very reliable computer and mouse control in the most demanding audiovisual environments. "The RF-250 is the only keyboard on the market with 2-way digital wireless communication. The keyboard 'talks' to the receiver, and with this new technology, the receiver 'talks back' to the keyboard so every keystroke and mouse command goes through," explains Martin Phillips, president of Wireless Computing.

The RF-250 is ideal for auditoriums, conference room, training rooms-anywhere you use a Windows or MacOS computer in front of an audience. The new keyboard has an operating range of seventy-five feet, and with 32,000+ digital addresses, you can use countless keyboards in the same vicinity.

Installers and customers alike will appreciate how simple it is to install the RF-250. There are no drivers to load or software to install. Setting up the keyboard is as easy as plugging the receiver into the USB port on the back of the computer.

For those who prefer their own mouse to the built-in touchpad, a PS/2 mouseport on the RF-250 allows for a standard or wheel mouse to be connected. The keyboard also enters into a sleep mode after a period of inactivity. This allows for 250 hours of operation on two AA batteries.

Shipping in July, the RF-250 Wireless Keyboard is available through selected audiovisual, computer and consumer electronics dealers at a suggested retail price of US$399. A high-resolution product photo of the RF-250 suitable for print publication is available.
