In my experience, keyboards are probably the most overlooked piece of essential computing equipment. For years I have been putting together computers and for years I have purchased keyboards on the cheap. After all, a good video card is more important than a decent set of keys to bash, isn't it? Wireless Computing's RF-220 Wireless Keyboard begs to differ.

....the RF-220 is about as compact as you could expect a useful keyboard to be...the keys feel solid under fingertip and communicate key presses well. The most important keys remain full sized and are easily hit...The keyboard's quoted range is thirty metres and no matter where I placed my laptop and receiver, I managed to maintain an accurate stream of key presses....in testing there was no discernable difference in performance with encryption engaged or disengaged...I also connected the keyboard up to my iMac and OSX recognised it as effortlessly as Windows XP did....a very good compact replacement keyboard for general use and likely exceptional for presenters who need the long range. Where I believe this keyboard is ideal however, is as a Home Theatre PC controller....[and] this might just be the best Home Theatre PC keyboard. Ever.

Wireless Computing targets the RF-220 Compact Keyboard at presenters who need to stand well away from their computers. To that end, the keyboard is very small and light, at 6.25 x 12.25 x 1 inches (HxWxD) and weighing a single pound. The RF-220 communicates wirelessly with your computer via a USB receiver at 916.5MHz and encrypts the wireless data transfers so malicious users can't pick up your keystrokes.

...Presenters will like the joystick and mouse buttons at the top of the keyboard, which lets them move the mouse cursor and click items...If you regularly use your computer during presentations, you'll love the RF-220. I typed comfortably while balancing it on my lap and found that I could use the mouse joystick and keys without any strain in my wrists, even when I held the keyboard in front of me.
